The Bahraini Ministry of Interior announced that the Cybercrime Directorate, since the start of the Iranian aggression targeting several locations in Bahrain, has identified and arrested a number of individuals for their involvement in serious offenses affecting the security and stability of society. These offenses include publishing videos and content expressing sympathy for this heinous attack, which constitutes treason and a clear violation of the nation's values and principles.
They also published fabricated images using artificial intelligence techniques depicting damage to several homes and shared them on their social media accounts. This contributed to misleading public opinion and spreading fear among citizens and residents, which constitutes a legal violation that could harm security and public order.
In a statement issued Tuesday and carried by the Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the Ministry of Interior clarified that the necessary legal procedures have been taken and the detainees have been referred to the Public Prosecution.
The Bahraini Ministry of Interior urges everyone to obtain information from official sources and not to circulate or republish unreliable clips, in order to avoid legal accountability and to preserve the security and safety of the nation.
