Bahrain said Monday (February 7th) that it has introduced a new type of permanent residence visa to attract and keep residents, investors, and talented people in the country.
The "golden" residence visa announced by the Ministry of Interior will be renewed indefinitely, and it will grant the right to work in Bahrain and residence to family members.
The move comes within the framework of measures taken by the Gulf kingdom to settle its debt-laden financial situation. Last October, Bahrain announced a new plan for economic growth and fiscal balance, that included major infrastructure projects.
The person must have resided in Bahrain for at least five years and have an average salary of no less than 2,000 Bahraini dinars, equivalent to $5,306 per month.
Those who own properties above a certain value, as well as retired and talented people who meet certain criteria and conditions, are also eligible for the new visa.
The golden residence visa announced by the Ministry of Interior in Bahrain will be renewed indefinitely and grants the right to work in Bahrain and unrestricted entry and exit, in addition to the right of residence for family members.
The visa aims to attract investors, entrepreneurs, and exceptional talents who can contribute to Bahrain’s continued success.
