Bahgat Al Obeidi, the Egyptian writer based in Austria, and the founder of the World Federation of Egyptian Citizens Abroad, denounced the statement issued by the European Parliament on human rights in Egypt.

Al Obeidi said: “Before issuing statements of condemnation or praising, the European Parliament must have obtained the information from documented sources, and ensured that its statements are correct by all possible means.”

Al Obeidi added that who reads the statement of the European Parliament understands without much effort that the Parliament relied on reports of "human rights" organizations hostile to Egypt, and did not fairly considered what is happening on the ground in Egypt.

He stressed that  the Egyptian communities abroad and Egyptian communities in Europe reject this statement.

Al Obeidi confirmed that the parliament should look at the whole image as Egypt is fighting terrorism and exerting great efforts on behalf of the world in combating this phenomenon.

However, Egypt's law enforcement authorities follow legal procedures in the process of arresting the groups that create unrest in the country and threaten peace and social security, the Egyptian writer noted.

The founder of the World Federation of Egyptian Citizens Abroad called on the European Parliament to handle its relations with Egypt carefully.

"No institution or organization in Europe or all over the world can imagine that it can interfere in Egypt's internal affairs," Al Obeidi said stressing that Egypt is a major country with long-established institutions, which have taught the world, and will not accept lessons from anyone, instead Egypt gives lessons to others.

He praised Egypt's decisive response, which reflects Egypt's strength and the ability of its officials to refute any allegation  and uncover truth.

Al Obeidi  announced that the branches of the Union in the European Union countries will issue statements rejecting and denouncing the position of the European Parliament, and will reveal the truth  to public opinion in Europe.
