The US Department of Defense released on Wednesday dramatic photos and footages of the secret daring raid that resulted in the killing of ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi during a military operation by US special forces in Idlib, northern Syria, last Saturday.
In a press conference, Marine Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, the four-star chief of central command who oversaw the operation, said the raid on Oct. 25 killed six ISIS fighters, including Baghdadi.

Noteworthy, the US authorities have disposed the remains of killed ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi by burying them at sea, according to a Pentagon official.
Al Baghdadi died in a US raid in northwestern Syria Saturday night, after igniting his suicide belt, killing himself, his two wives and 3 children.
The initial planning for the raid began last summer, as a commando unit of the Army Delta force began to develop training plans for a covert mission to kill or capture the ISIS leader, with enormous obstacles anticipated.
His hideout was deep inside al-Qaeda-controlled territory. The skies over this area are also under the control of Syria and Russia.
The US leadership canceled the operation at least two times at the last minute, according to the New York Times newspaper.
