The US weather service revealed that up to 1.5 inches of snow can fall in some mountains near Los Angeles, creating white areas with wind gusts of up to 120 kilometers per hour and an increased risk of avalanches.

The Weather Service issued a rare blizzard warning for mountainous areas of Southern California, urging drivers to avoid dangerous roads.

Storms have already battered the plain states and northern regions of the United States for days, and the National Weather Service is forecasting continued problems of snow, ice and freezing rain through the weekend.
