Units of the Azerbaijani armed forces entered the Aghdam district, located in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, on Friday morning, following the statement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, stipulated in the cessation of hostilities agreement.

“According to the trilateral Statement signed by the President of Azerbaijan, the prime minister of Armenia, and the President of the Russian Federation, units of the Azerbaijan Army entered the Aghdam region on November 20,” the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan mentioned in a statement.

It also assured that “Photo and video footage of the Aghdam region will be presented during the day.”

The Azerbaijani Defense Minister said that “army units entered the Agdam region,” noting that the area was controlled by the Armenians for nearly 30 years, which makes it the first region Azerbaijan put a hand on following the tripartite statement.

In addition to lands in the Nagorno-Karabakh region, including Shusha, Azerbaijan shall regain the seven territories needed as a “security belt.”

They took control of 4 of them by force and reclaimed 3 others, which are Agdam, on Friday, and Kalbgar on November 25, and Lashin on the first of December.
