Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reaffirmed the importance of maintaining positive momentum in advancing the normalization of relations between Baku and Yerevan during their meeting in Abu Dhabi.

According to a statement from the Azerbaijani Presidential Press Service: "Aliyev and Pashinyan emphasized the necessity of sustaining the positive progress achieved in the normalization process between the two nations."

Simultaneously, a statement from the Armenian Cabinet noted: "Pashinyan and Aliyev expressed their satisfaction with the commencement of bilateral trade and the export of petroleum products from Azerbaijan to Armenia."

The AzerTac news agency had earlier reported that the meeting between President Aliyev and Prime Minister Pashinyan in Abu Dhabi was held in an expanded format.

This meeting comes as part of ongoing regional and international efforts to normalize ties between the two neighbors and bolster stability in the South Caucasus region, following years of tension and conflict.
