The average weekly infection with the Coronavirus in the American capital, Washington, increased from less than 1% to more than 13%.

According to a memo sent to members of the Senate and House of Representatives by Capitol physician, Brian Monahan, daily case rates will increase significantly in the coming weeks, noting that a large number of infections are recorded daily.

"The cases represent a rise in the rate of sudden infections among vaccinated inpiduals as well as among unvaccinated inpiduals," Monahan said, noting that "the Omicron mutant represents about 61 percent of infections, and the Delta mutant represents 38 percent."

He explained that "the risk of contracting the virus is greater among inpiduals who engage in activities outside the workplace, such as attending parties, visiting places of entertainment, celebrations, family gatherings, travel, and crowded indoor places."

And data from the US “Johns Hopkins University" reported that about one million and 84 thousand cases of Coronavirus were detected in the country yesterday, Monday, in the highest number of daily infections since the beginning of the pandemic.

Thus, the previous record (590,000 injuries), which was set on December 31, was broken against the background of the spread of the “Omicron” mutant throughout the United States.

"Bloomberg" indicates that the published data may not reflect the real situation, as many Americans undergo Corona tests at home and do not report the results to statistical agencies.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 56 million HIV infections have been recorded in the country, while more than 820,000 people have died due to COVID-19.
