Austrian Interior Minister Gerhard Karner confirmed that more than 900 tons of humanitarian aid, worth 4 million euros has been sent to Ukraine.
The minister said on Sunday that all employees of the Interior Ministry, as well as federal states, municipalities, and relief organizations, have made extensive efforts in providing relief supplies to Ukraine and neighboring countries.
Karner explained that the shipments arrived in varying quantities in Ukraine, Slovakia, Moldova, the Czech Republic, and Poland through 70 trucks loaded with relief materials.
The Austrian minister added that the relief supplies include food, Hygiene materials, medical equipment, bandages, protective jackets, helmets, gloves, fuel, firefighting supplies, generators, devices from the electricity sector, as well as firefighting and rescue vehicles.
He stressed the aid transfers, through which the people of Austria affirm their solidarity with the Ukrainians, and he thanked the Red Cross for their support in sending and collecting donations, as well as some international companies and organizations.
