Australian police announced the arrest of 11 activists who caused chaos on Monday, during protests in downtown Sydney; to object to the failure to take drastic measures to confront the phenomenon of climate change.
The Australian police said in a statement, today, that these protests were filled with chaotic scenes in the commercial district of downtown Sydney, and caused the closure of major roads, including the one leading to the Port Tunnel.
Police sources said that more than a hundred people participated in these protests, but were dispersed within one hour. For their part, activists said that the ecosystem in Australia is collapsing, and that government is not taking enough measures to prevent this collapse, stressing that they will continue protests across Sydney.
It should be noted that the Australian state governments have implemented strict laws in recent years; to deter protesters who disrupt public transportation and commercial activities during climate change protests.
