The Australian Foreign Minister, according to ABC News, has expressed her country’s disappointment regarding the deadlock in negotiations between the United States and Iran held in Islamabad, which concluded without reaching an agreement.

She emphasized that the failure of the talks to achieve tangible progress is "disappointing," stressing the urgent necessity of prioritizing the continuation of the ceasefire and a swift return to the negotiating table.

The Minister added that Australia remains hopeful for a prompt resolution to the conflict, particularly in light of escalating tensions that threaten both regional and international stability.

Furthermore, she warned that any further escalation would lead to a higher human cost and exert increasing negative pressure on the global economy, necessitating intensified diplomatic efforts to prevent further deterioration.

These statements come amid growing international calls for de-escalation and the resumption of dialogue between Washington and Tehran, following a round of negotiations that failed to yield decisive results.
