US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stressed the urgent need for a credible and implementable plan to protect civilians and address the humanitarian situation in Gaza before any ground operations in Rafah.
This came during Austin’s meeting with his Israeli counterpart, Benny Gantz, at the Pentagon headquarters.
During the meeting, Austin requested the support of his counterpart Gantz to enable more humanitarian aid and its distribution in Gaza.
He also called for the release of all those detained by Hamas, expressing his deep concern about the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
