As careers become less linear and skills expire faster than ever, professionals need more flexible ways to build their expertise, said Mahmoud Allam, dean of the School of Continuing Education at The American University in Cairo, as the university announced the launch of its new Career Accelerator model. The new approach emphasizes professional learning that enables people to build qualifications one skill at a time.

The university's School of Continuing Education is launching the Career Accelerator, a flexible system of stackable credentials that can be earned in weeks and combined over time into larger qualifications. Covering 17 career tracks and more than 200 employer-recognized credentials, the model aims to give professionals greater control over how, and how quickly they develop their careers.

Unlike traditional programs built around classroom hours, the new approach focuses on demonstrated skills through real workplace tasks. Learners receive verified digital badges and competency certificates that can be added directly to CVs and professional profiles.

To mark the launch, AUC will host a public event on Saturday, June 27, from 4:00 to 9:00 pm at AUC Tahrir Square Campus, with registration opening at 2:00 pm. The event will feature hands-on workshops, career coaching, CV and LinkedIn reviews, mock interviews, and skills assessments, giving participants an opportunity to explore the new model and map out their next career steps.
