AUC to announce Naguib Mahfouz Medal winner next Wednesday

The American University in Cairo (AUC) will announce the winner of the Naguib Mahfouz Medal for Literature next Wednesday, 31st March.

The ceremony of the announcement will be held online through a Zoom session, and it will be aired live on the official page of the AUC Press.

The total shortlisted books for the prize are six: Algerian  Ahmed Talibaoui’s “The Disappearance of Mr. Nobody,” Syrian Maha Hassan’s “The Neighborhood of Wonder,” Egyptian Amal Radwan’s “In the Dust Cities,” Yemeni Algarby Omran’s “The fort of Al-Zidi,” and Egyptian Mohamed Ali Ibrahim’s “The Stone in Khallaf’s House,” alongside Omar Taher's "Kohl Wi Habahan"(Kohl and Cardamom).
