The AU Committee of Experts on Reparations (AUCER) and the AU Reference Group of Legal Experts on Reparations (AULER) concluded a five-day virtual summit to coordinate legal and strategic baselines for the newly designated "Decade of Justice and Reparations (2026–2036)." The initiative aims to build a unified continental voice to pressure global institutions and former colonial powers for compensation over historical injustices.
It's worth mentioning that the newly formed AU working groups are expected to deliver their first draft of the Common African Position to the AU heads of state at the next continental summit
