At Least 33 People Injured in Train Collision in Tunisia

At least 33 people were injured following a catastrophic collision between two passenger trains in the south of Tunis on Thursday evening, according to the latest domestic reports. 

In a statement, Hassen Mia'adi, spokesperson for the Tunisian National Railway Company (SNCFT) said a passenger train collided with a stationary train near Megrine Riadh station in the Tunisian capital.

In response to this disaster, nearly 10 ambulances and several rescue teams were deployed to the site in order to rescue the casualties and also search for survivors.

A few hours later, the Tunisian prosecutor ordered an urgent investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident.
