At least 28 people have been killed in floods triggered by heavy rainfall across Mexico this week, local authorities reported.
The torrential downpours have caused widespread damage and displaced large numbers of residents.
According to Mexico’s civil defense authorities, heavy rain has been recorded in 31 of the country’s 32 states.
The worst-affected regions include Veracruz in the east, Querétaro and Hidalgo in the center, and San Luis Potosí in the north-central part of the country.
In Puebla alone, nearly 800,000 people have been impacted by the severe weather, the state government confirmed. Emergency services continue to operate across affected areas, assisting displaced residents and restoring essential infrastructure.
