Assala Nasri Shuts Down Engagement Rumors

Syrian megastar, Assala Nasri sparked engagement rumors after she was spotted with an engagement ring.

Nasri denied in a phone interview with “ET bel Arabi” program the circulating rumors, adding that she has been in a shock since her separation from her ex-husband Tarek Al Eryan.

The Syrian megastar revealed that she is currently single and does not know if she will be ready for another relationship.

Nasri clarified that she is engaged to herself, as she is currently interested in pampering herself.

"I even bought a ring for myself made of several broken hearts," she added.

Nasri and Al Eryan have split, after a marriage that lasted for more than 10 years.

On January 6, the Syrian megastar confirmed that she and her husband have separated. Nasri posted a photo of herself with Al Eryan on her Instagram account confirming that “With the utmost regret and sorrow” she has separated from the father of her sons (Adam and Ali).

Sham al Zahabi, the daughter of Assala, was keen to support her mother in her ordeal and revealed in the comment the cause of the porce, which was due to cheating.

It is worth mentioning that Assala Mostafa Hatem Nasri, most commonly known as Assala, is a Syrian singer and TV host.

She was born in Damascus to a middle-class couple, her father Moustafa Nasry, was a well-known Syrian composer and singer.

The megastar began her musical career by performing patriotic, religious, and children’s songs when she was four years old.

Nasri sang the theme song “Qessas al-Sho’oub (Stories of People”) of the cartoon show “Hekaayat ‘aalamiyah” (Global tales).

In 1986, her father passed away in a fatal car accident after suffering from internal bleeding. Aged 17, she helped her mother in taking care of her siblings, Reem, Amaany, Ayman, and Ayham.

Nasri made her musical debut in 1993 with “Law te’rafou” (If you know). The album had 4 songs in the oriental operatic TARAB style composed by great Egyptian composers. The album was an instant hit with heartbreaking songs like “Ya sabra yana” (How patient I am) and” Samehtak ketir (I forgave a lot).

She quickly cemented her presence in a growing industry brimming with new, young talents like Najwa Karam, Saber Rebai, Angham, and Abdelmajeed Abdullah.

Nasri booked herself a place along with the Arab singing legends among great albums through two decades.

Among her most famous albums are “Eghdab” (Get angry), “Wala tessadda” (Do not believe), “Alby beyertahlak (My heart feels at home with you), “Ya mag-noun” (Oh madman), “Moshtaa’a” (I am missing you), ” Yameen Allah” (I swear), “Add al-horouf” (As much as letters), “Hayaaty” (My life), “Noss haala” (A half situation), and “Kanoun kaifek” (The law of your fancy).
