Syrian megastar Assala Nasri dropped her latest music video “Shamekh” on her official “YouTube” channel.
The music video is by the lyrics of Prince Badr Ben Mohammed, composed by Abdulaziz Elmuanna, and directed by Nehal Nabil.
Shamekh is her first music production after announcing that she and her husband Palestinian-American film director, Tarek Al Eryan have split, after a marriage that lasted for over 10 years.
Nasri posted a photo of herself with Al Eryan on Instagram, confirming that “With the utmost regret and sorrow” she has separated from the father of her sons (Adam and Ali).
Sham al Zahabi, the daughter of Assala, was keen to support her mother in her ordeal and revealed in the comment the cause of the porce, which was due to cheating.
“We have always stood up and overcome all storms, and we surely will go through this one! We are a never ending circle of love and support to one another and we will be able to rise regardless,” she wrote.
She added: “This is merely another test to show your true nature: a fighter, a woman made of steel… a woman who rose against all illness, hurt, betrayal, and let the circumstance mould her into a brighter diamond rather than victimizing herself. Forever a proud daughter.”
Later that day, Al Eryan spoke out about his split from his wife.
Al Eryan posted a photo of himself with Nasri on Instagram and captioned: “Unfortunately we reached the end of this chapter. I will always love and respect this beautiful soul, forever the mother of my children @assala_official.”
Rumors and reports have been circulating since October 2019 about their porce after Al Eryan cheated on the Syrian superstar with Syrian actress, Nesreen Tafesh, which she denied.
She addressed then, the claims for the first time, saying: “This news is not correct”.
Things got even more complicated when Egyptian TV host Tamer Amin the couple’s separation in a televised remark.
Nasri got married at an early age for the first time. She became a mother of her first daughter, Sham at 22, then got porced in 2005 after more than 15 years of marriage.
She got married for the second time to Al Eryan in 2006 and gave birth in 2011 to twin boys, Adam and Aly, via In vitro fertilisation (IVF).
