The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, headed by Dr. Khalid Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, named the winners of the Nile Awards and the State Appreciation and Incentive Award for the year 2018.
A host of Egyptian scientists, topped by renowned scientists Dr. Mohamed Ghoneim and Dr. Ahmed Okasha, were also present during the naming of the winners Monday morning.The number of prizes awarded this year was 56 compared with 48 last year, in addition to the special awards from the Academy, which women and young African researchers.
The Council agreed to award the Nile Prizes, seven State Appreciation Awards, seven Awards for Excellence, and 39 State encourage awards.
cairo University, Mansoura University, and the National Research Center took the first spot with 8 prizes each.
However, Ain Shams came in second place with 6 prizes, while Zagazig University took third place with 5 prizes.
Alexandria and Tanta universities came in fourth place with 4 awards each, while Al-Azhar University, The University of Kafr El-Sheikh, Sohag, Beni Suef, Assiut and the city of Zewail received two prizes each.
