Argentinian reports claimed on Tuesday that Rodolfo Arruabarrena has edged closer to lead Al Ahly.
Speculations have been raised about the future of the current head coach Rene Weiler, who comes close to leave the Red Devils after claiming the Egyptian League title.
Argentinian channel "TYC" reported that Arruabarrena, who won 41 titles since 2000, is highly recommended to lead the Red Devils, if the current coach decides to lead the club.
On its part, Argentinian newspaper "Oleeh" confirmed that the 45-year-old manager has a new challenge in Cairo as he is strongly nominated to succeed Weiler.
Who is Arruabarrena ?
He is a former Argentinian star, who spent most of his career with Boca Juniors.
He led several teams as the 45-year-old manager started his coaching career with Tigre, then Club Nacional de Football.
Arruabarrena guided Boca Juniors to claim the Argentinian League and cup titles, before beginning new a new adventure in Asia.
He also led several Arab clubs; Al-Wasl, Al Rayan, and Shabab Al-Ahli.
