Egypt is home to a distinguished group of doctors and researchers who continuously strive through study and experimentation to achieve the best results in complementary medicine. Among them is Dr. Ahmad Yassin, a pharmacist who has devoted nearly 37 years to studying and practicing aromatherapy. He is considered one of the few specialists in this field in Egypt.

In an interview, Dr. Ahmad Yassin explained that there are more than 150 essential oils that can be used to address many health issues. He personally focuses on around 50 oils available in Egypt, including basil oil, ginger oil, black seed oil, lemon oil, and anise oil.

Dr. Yassin confirms that each essential oil has therapeutic properties that can help treat various health conditions when used within well-designed treatment protocols. He explains that many diseases result either from a deficiency in essential nutrients or from toxins entering the body. The most harmful toxins, he notes, are heavy metals such as arsenic, mercury, and aluminum. Parasites can also play a significant role in many illnesses.

A Specialized Treatment Protocol

Regarding treatment protocols, Dr. Yassin explains that each disease requires a specific approach, starting with identifying the root cause. He gives the example of Alzheimer’s disease, stating that a protocol may include:

Eliminating sources of aluminum, which is believed to contribute to the condition. Aluminum can be found in certain cookware, antacid medications, deodorants, and old gray-colored dental fillings.

Incorporating coconut oil into the diet as a healthy fat source.

Ensuring adequate Omega-3 intake; locally, this can be achieved by consuming ground flaxseeds to improve digestion and absorption.

Supporting the body with silica, which can be obtained naturally through the use of miswak (natural chewing sticks).

Advice for Stress and Memory Problems

In times of stress and forgetfulness, Dr. Yassin recommends marjoram oil to help reduce tension. Lemon oil, he adds, can act as a natural mosquito repellent and may be applied to the skin when properly diluted with a carrier oil.

He also emphasizes the importance of consuming healthy fats such as coconut oil to nourish the brain, and stresses the necessity of regular sun exposure, as it is essential for maintaining adequate vitamin D levels, which play a crucial role in overall health.

Dr. Yassin concludes by noting that aromatherapy is not a replacement for conventional medicine, but rather a complementary approach that requires knowledge, expertise, and proper scientific application to achieve the best results.
