A report issued by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) revealed that the actual sales of the 100 largest arms and defense systems production companies in the world amounted to $592 billion over the past year.

And the institute stated, in a report, that this constitutes an increase of 1.9% from the sales of the top 100 companies during the year 2020, with expectations that the upward trend will continue in 2023.

The SIPRI report indicated that the year 2021 was the seventh year in a row in which the movement of arms sales and defense systems escalated worldwide, based on data issued by major arms manufacturers, despite the confusion of supply chains and supply of industrial inputs and raw materials that go into the weapons industry and ammunition in 2019 and 2020 as a result of the closures that accompanied the new “Corona” pandemic.
