Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said, on Wednesday, that his country faced a "terrorist attack" from Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Pashinyan explained that what Turkey has been doing in Nagorno-Karabakh "is part of the continuation of the Armenian genocide, and an attempt to restore the Ottoman Empire," according to Sky News.
"The situation is much more serious (than previous clashes in 2016),” Pashinyan stated in an interview with ‘Le Figaro’ newspaper on Thursday. “It would be more appropriate to compare it with what happened in 1915, when more than 1.5 million Armenians were slaughtered during the first genocide of the 20th century."
"The Turkish state, which continues to deny the past, is once again venturing down a genocidal path." he added.
Hostilities continued in the Nagorno-Karabakh as Stepanakert, the "capital" of the Nagorno- Karabakh, was bombed on Tuesday, according to AFP correspondent.
The bombing resumed throughout the night from Tuesday October 6 to Wednesday October 7 in Stepanakert.
At regular intervals, almost every hour, the warning sirens echoed in the city, plunged into almost total darkness.
“It is without a doubt the most intense night bombing since the end of the week, since the Azerbaijani forces began targeting Stepanakert, a city of 55,000 inhabitants,” according to a resident interviewed by Agence France-Presse (AFP).
