Armed Forces Mourn Death of Field Marshal Tantawi

The Egyptian Armed Forces mourned on Tuesday the death of former Defense Minister Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi as being "one of its sons and one of the leaders of the 6th of October war"

 

In a statement, it also offered condolences to his family and the armed forces, asking God Almighty to bless the deceased with his mercy and forgiveness and to grant her family patience and solace.

 

Egypt’s Former Defense Minister, Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi passed away, earlier today, Tuesday, at the age of 85.

 

Previously, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi called Tantawi “the great man who led Egypt in one of the most difficult periods.”

 

It is worth mentioning that, Mohamed Hussein Tantawi was born on 31 October 1935. He is an Egyptian field marshal and former politician.

Tantawi served in the government as Minister of Defense and Military Production from 1991 until his retirement on 12 August 2012.
