Defense Minister Mohamed Zaki congratulated President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on the new Hijri year 1445.
In a congratulatory telegram, Zaki wished the new Hijri year would bring further prosperity and development to the homeland.
He also conveyed the greetings of the Armed Forces personnel to the president on the occasion.
Furthermore, Army Chief of Staff Osama Askar sent a similar cable to the president.
On this day, Muslims celebrate 1445 years since Islam’s Prophet Muhammad -peace be upon him- migrated from Mecca to Medina, to save Muslims from torture by leaders of Quraish, an Arab tribe Muhammad was part of, and to protect the proselytism of Islam from being eradicated by disbelievers at that time.
