A number of citizens in the city of Arish raised banners reading "No to Displacement" on Tuesday, coinciding with the visit of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and French President Emmanuel Macron to the city to assess the humanitarian situation related to the Gaza Strip.
These banners served as a symbolic message from local residents expressing their concerns about potential moves that could affect the demographic makeup of the region or threaten the security and stability of Sinai, amid escalating events in the Palestinian territories and the ongoing war in Gaza.
Thousands of people from various Egyptian governorates traveled to Arish in North Sinai to welcome Presidents Sisi and Macron during their visit.
