The Argentine Ambassador to Egypt, Holger Federico Martinsen, has stressed the importance of Egypt’s role in the Middle East, describing the country as a pivotal regional player with significant geopolitical and economic influence.

Speaking to the European Program on Egypt's Radio, the ambassador said Egypt’s strategic geographic location, linking Africa, Europe, and Asia, enhances its role in regional stability and global trade, particularly through the Suez Canal.

He praised Egypt’s efforts to improve its investment climate, noting that major infrastructure projects and developments in transportation networks have strengthened the country’s attractiveness to foreign investors, including Argentine companies.

The ambassador also highlighted the depth of cultural ties between the two countries, describing Egypt’s historical heritage as a global asset and pointing to ongoing cultural exchanges aimed at promoting tourism and mutual understanding.

On bilateral cooperation, he said Egypt and Argentina share complementary economic strengths, particularly in agriculture, trade, and technology, and expressed interest in expanding collaboration in areas such as space and scientific research.

Diplomatic relations between Egypt and Argentina date back to 1947, with both countries continuing to explore opportunities to enhance economic, cultural, and political cooperation.
