He died after a recent health crisis that lasted for several weeks. Pope Francis experienced breathing difficulties and was subsequently transferred to Rome's Gemelli Hospital for treatment.

Earlier, Pope Francis called for a ceasefire in Gaza and asked to send aid to the starving Palestinian people.
