Architect & Researcher Mohamed Hendawi,

What “Beyond Green Architecture” means?

It is a new design theory in architecture and interior architecture that considers man is mental and physical conditions. You may ask; does our Built Environment affect our brain and our physical condition?

WELL, for sure. Let me give you a brief about our Built Environment and its impact on our brains then our body. Our daily work, problems, traffic, stress, Lights, pollutions, and much more are making our direct attention part in our brains works most of the time, and gets over used. The direct attention or the thinking part of our brains is responsible for everything around us, so when we are in a stressful, bad designed built environment; we are in real problem.

Thus, we got very stressed, uncomfortable, aggressive, and not concentrated or creative. The solution is to give your brain’s direct attention part a rest, but how could we do that? We can do so by making our unthinking part of our brains in action, and rest the direct attention. This action takes place, when man in a relaxing mood, or in a good mood, an action named fascination when man get connected to her/his native nature or healthy and well designed “Built Environments”.

As a conclusion, connecting man with well-designed built environment related to nature and consider human is mental health; it has its direct impact on human immune system, which is the main core of our bodies the army of our body that fight any diseases that may attack our physical organs. This is because our mind or brain condition affect our immune system and it controls it according to many previous scientific researches.

How the well educated designers do this and what its design elements like materials or colors and fabrics and more. Wait for me for my upcoming next articles.
