Aramco, BYD Team up for Green Vehicles

Saudi Aramco and Chinese automaker BYD have signed a strategic agreement to explore opportunities in the development of new energy vehicle (NEV) technologies.

The agreement was signed by Aramco Technologies Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Saudi Aramco, and BYD, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of electric vehicles and battery technologies.

The partnership focuses on advancing NEV systems, including battery-electric and hybrid technologies, and enhancing environmental performance through improved fuel efficiency and reduced carbon emissions.

The collaboration aligns with Aramco’s broader strategy to invest in low-carbon solutions and explore the future of mobility.

Aramco is actively developing innovative fuel formulations and advanced powertrain technologies, including improvements to internal combustion engines that lower environmental impact.

For BYD, this partnership strengthens its global presence and technological outreach by working closely with one of the world’s largest energy companies.
