The Council of the Arab League at the ministerial level issued a strong condemnation Tuesday of what it called a "brutal Israeli bombardment" on the Qatari capital of Doha.
In a statement, the council expressed its "absolute and unequivocal rejection" of the attack, describing it as a "grave violation of international law, the United Nations Charter, and an assault on the sovereignty, security, and stability of the State of Qatar."
The Arab League warned against the dangerous escalation of Israeli actions, stating that such acts "threaten security and peace in the region and put it on a dangerous path." The council also affirmed its full solidarity with Qatar, its people, and its territories.
The statement called on the international community to hold Israel accountable for its "legal and moral responsibilities" and to compel it to halt its "dangerous and continuous escalation and aggressions" in the region. It also urged Israel to adhere to the rules of international humanitarian law and relevant international resolutions.
