The Arab Poetry House will host a new session of its monthly “Cairo Critical Forum: A Critic and a Project,” focusing on the critical work of Egyptian academic Sayed Deifallah, organizers said.
The event, organized by the Arab Poetry House at Bayt Al-Set Wasila Creativity Center, affiliated with Egypt’s Cultural Development Fund, will be held Sunday evening, Dec. 28, 2025, at the center’s headquarters behind Al-Azhar Mosque.
The session will explore key aspects of Deifallah’s critical project, which addresses modern and contemporary Arabic poetry, critical methodology and textual analysis within broader cultural and intellectual contexts. Deifallah is an assistant professor of literary criticism at the Academy of Arts and a recipient of the 2016 Sawiris Cultural Award for literary criticism.
The forum will bring together a group of critics and academics in a discussion moderated by critic Ahmed Hassan Awad, aiming to promote serious critical dialogue within Egypt’s cultural scene.
