Sokkar Mecca Trading Company for Industrial Sewing Machines has signed a partnership agreement with Indos Smart Manufacturing Made Simple to introduce advanced artificial intelligence–powered manufacturing systems to Egypt’s ready-made garment sector. The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the 22nd edition of the Egypt Stitch & Tex exhibition, held at the Cairo International Convention Center from December 4 to 7.
Under the partnership, Sokkar Mecca will supply the Egyptian market with Garment IO systems, an AI-driven manufacturing solution designed to enhance sewing machine performance. The technology is expected to reduce wasted production time by up to 60 percent, increase productivity by 15 to 20 percent, improve product quality by as much as 40 percent, and cut machine downtime by up to 50 percent through real-time data analytics and smart monitoring.
The move comes as Egypt’s ready-made garment sector continues to expand. Exports are projected to reach $1.4 billion by the end of 2025, representing growth of around 24 percent compared to the first quarter of the year. The industry employs approximately 2.5 million workers and contributes about 3.4 percent of Egypt’s gross domestic product, making it a key pillar of industrial growth.
Moataz Sokkar, General Manager of Sokkar Mecca, described the agreement as a first-of-its-kind collaboration between two Egyptian companies to deliver AI-based solutions to garment manufacturers. He said the partnership aims to boost efficiency, lower production costs, and improve final product quality, adding that the service will be available to all clients, including as part of after-sales support.
Sokkar added that the introduction of Garment IO aligns with the rapid expansion of Egypt’s garment industry and the growing demand for modern production technologies that support higher output and export readiness.
Ahmed Nounou, CEO of Indos Smart Manufacturing Made Simple, said the partnership combines Sokkar Mecca’s deep market experience with Indos’ expertise in artificial intelligence and smart manufacturing. He noted that the cooperation will introduce a digital production model capable of raising factory efficiency and strengthening the competitiveness of Egyptian manufacturers in global markets, ultimately supporting export growth.
