Egypt’s Arab Poetry House will host the Ahmed Abdel Moneim Hijazi Poetry Salon on Sunday to mark World Arabic Language Day, celebrating Arabic as a living language of creativity and cultural identity.
The event, organized by the Arab Poetry House under the Cultural Development Fund, will take place at the Set Waseela Creativity Center near Al-Azhar Mosque. Saudi critic and academic Moajeb Al-Zahrani, former director of the Arab World Institute in Paris, will participate alongside a group of Arab and Egyptian poets, including Mohamed Adam, Abdel Qader Al-Hosni and Abdel Hamid Mahmoud. Poet Mahmoud Bilal will moderate the salon.
Samah Mahgoub, director of the Arab Poetry House, said the occasion goes beyond a ceremonial celebration, aiming to deepen awareness of Arabic’s cultural and civilizational value and encourage dialogue among different generations of poets and critics.
The Hijazi Salon is held regularly as a prominent platform for discussions on language, poetry and Arab identity
