Arab Parliament speaker, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi, has emphasized the importance of avoiding escalation regarding the Taiwan crisis.
He stressed that the world cannot currently endure new escalatory crises and called for the respect of international law principles and United Nations resolutions, foremost among them the "One China" principle, which stipulates that Taiwan is an integral part of Chinese territory.
In a press statement on Sunday, Arab Parliament President explained that the "One China" principle constitutes a firm foundation in the relations of Arab countries with China and in their positions on the Taiwan crisis.
He further underlined the Arab Parliament's commitment to this principle, describing it as a fundamental pillar of Arab-Chinese relations at both the governmental and parliamentary levels
