Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi arrived in Minsk on Saturday for the parliament's first official visit to Belarus, following an invitation from the Speaker of the Belarusian House of Representatives.
The delegation received an official welcome at Minsk International Airport, where Sergei Rachkov, Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs, described the visit as a milestone in strengthening parliamentary ties and reflecting the growing relationship between Belarus and the Arab League.
Al Yamahi thanked Belarusian officials for the warm reception, saying the visit marks the beginning of a new phase of institutional parliamentary cooperation that supports broader political, economic and cultural relations between Belarus and Arab states.
During the visit, the two sides are expected to hold official talks and sign a memorandum of understanding between the Arab Parliament and the National Assembly of Belarus, alongside meetings with senior government officials and representatives of economic and academic institutions.
