On Wednesday, the Arab Parliament Speaker Adel Al-Asoomi affirmed that the parliament will continue to serve the interests of the Arab people, and complement official Arab diplomacy in endorsing Arab issues.
Al-Asoomi stated in a speech during a session of the second round of the third legislative term that the parliament will continue to bolster Arab solidarity and develop joint Arab work mechanisms on all levels, adding that the exceptional circumstances of current Arab reality and the challenges on both regional and international fronts call for a more active role of diplomacy.
The Arab Parliament held last Saturday, the fourth conference titled, the role of parliamentarians in achieving security and stability in the Arab world, with the participation of Arab parliaments and parliament speakers.
The top parliamentarian thanked his fellow speakers for their fruitful participation as the conference resulted in the approval of the Arab charter asserting national Arab position on 14 cases of challenges and crises facing the Arab nation, on the forefront of which is the Palestinian issue.
The charter will be submitted to leaders of the Arab world during the upcoming summit set to be held in Algeria.
Al-Asoomi congratulated His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on national day celebrations, wishing Kuwait, its leadership and people further security and progress.
He also congratulated Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman Al-Saud on the kingdomآ’s founding day anniversary.
