Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, strongly condemned the Israeli Knesset’s approval of a law allowing the execution of Palestinian prisoners, describing the measure as a “systematic crime” and a grave violation of international law.
In a statement, Al Yamahi said the legislation contravenes the Geneva Conventions, which guarantee protection for prisoners during armed conflicts. He warned that adopting such a law represents a dangerous escalation and reflects policies of retaliation and extrajudicial punishment.
The Arab Parliament chief called on the international community, including the U.N. Security Council and human rights organizations, to take immediate action to halt the measure, hold those responsible accountable, and ensure international protection for Palestinian detainees.
