Arab Parliament Reaffirms Support for Yemen’s Unity

The Arab Parliament reaffirmed its full support for Yemen’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing its continued backing of the country’s internationally recognized government led by the Presidential Leadership Council.

In a statement, the parliament said it was closely following recent developments in Yemen and urged all parties to exercise restraint, avoid escalation and prioritize dialogue in the interest of the Yemeni people.

The Arab Parliament also praised efforts by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates to reduce tensions and restore security and stability, particularly in the governorates of Hadramout and Al Mahrah. It welcomed a Saudi statement highlighting coordination with the UAE, Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government to contain the situation and return conditions to normal.

The parliament reiterated its commitment to supporting all initiatives that enhance security, stability and development in Yemen, and that help realize the legitimate aspirations of the Yemeni people for peace and prosperity.
