Arab Parliament, Latin American Parliament Issue Joint Statement on Strengthening Cooperation

The Arab Parliament and the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (Parlatino) issued a joint statement Thursday at the opening session of the Arab Parliament’s second session of the fourth legislative term, chaired by H.E. Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi. The statement followed the participation of H.E. Rolando Patricio, President of Parlatino, as guest of honor.

Both sides reaffirmed the deep historical ties between the Arab world and Latin America and their shared commitment to strengthening parliamentary cooperation and coordination in regional and international forums. The statement called for continued efforts to promote peace, stability, and sustainable development, rejecting foreign interference in regional affairs.

It also urged an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza, accountability for war crimes committed by Israel, and active participation in Gaza’s reconstruction efforts. The two parliaments emphasized collaboration on sustainable development, poverty reduction, food and water security, and climate action.
