On Saturday, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Adel Assomi, confirmed that they have developed some new approaches and tools to support Arab issues in dealing with the European side, especially the European Parliament, through outlining effective communication networks with some influential businessmen and figures in Europe.
These remarks came during Al-Assomi's current visit to France, heading a high-level delegation of the Arab Parliament for talks with the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Geneva.
He held a meeting with a number of European officials, including, Vincent Scattolin, Mayor of the French city of Dijon, and Jose David, a famous businessman in the field of tourism, during which, the speaker stressed the need to communicate with European lobbyists and interest groups in a way that aims to present a correct and true picture of the Arab countries and their conditions.
He also called for the need to build communication bridges by parliamentarians in all Arab and European Parliaments with a view to contributing to defending Arab issues worldwide.
The meeting was also attended by "Abdulaziz Al-Wasel", the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations in Geneva-Switzerland.
The talks also touched on human rights issues and the attempt to politicize them by some regional organizations and parliaments, especially the European Parliament, to practice pressures against the Arab countries.
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation with all concerned parties in clarifying a true and correct picture with regard to human rights in the Arab countries.
