Speaker of the Arab Parliament Adel Assomi criticized the double standards in dealing with the Palestinian cause and the Ukrainian crisis, calling for unity to achieve the international justice
During his speech at the 144th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) General Assembly, which is taking place in Bali-Indonesia, Alasoomi noted that the world has gathered over the past few period due to rising tensions in the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.
"We are not in favor of violating the sovereignty of any State in any way," Alasoomi said, stressing that Palestinian people had been subjected to occupation over the past seven decades. Nevertheless, the world had done nothing to end these people's suffering and establish an independent state.
He also added that an international action is what needed to solve the Palestinian cause and the Russian-Ukrainian war, affirming that humanitarian engagement should be the same in all times, places with all peoples.
Finally, the President of the Arab Parliament called for common global standards in order to achieve the international justice that we all seek.
