The Arab Media Excellence Award Committee announced that submissions for the award’s 10th edition will open on Feb. 1, 2026, under the theme “Arab Media and Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Challenges,” reflecting the rapid digital transformation in the region.
The announcement came during the committee’s first meeting at the Arab League’s General Secretariat, attended by representatives of all member states. The meeting was chaired by Ambassador Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Media and Communication Sector, alongside Talal Al-Hayfi, chairman of the award committee.
Khattabi said discussions were held in a constructive atmosphere and addressed key agenda items, including defining the theme, setting the scope of the new edition and reviewing proposals to further develop the award. Among them was a proposal to establish a board of trustees of experienced media professionals, under the supervision of the Arab League and Kuwait, the award’s sponsor, to enhance transparency, credibility and innovation.
The submission deadline is May 3, 2026.
