Faid Mustafa, assistant secretary-general of the Arab League and head of its Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Department, met with Ali Abdi Awari, Somalia’s ambassador and permanent representative to the league, to discuss issues of mutual concern.
The talks reviewed regional and international developments, with a focus on the Palestinian issue amid the humanitarian fallout in Gaza following two years of war, as well as recent Israeli measures in the West Bank that Mustafa said aim to expand control over land.
The meeting also addressed developments in the Federal Republic of Somalia and explored avenues to strengthen cooperation between the Arab League’s Palestine department and Somalia’s permanent mission.
