Ahmed Rashid Khattabi, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Media and Communication Sector at the League of Arab States, opened a two-day intellectual seminar examining the implications of diversity on Arab identity and development.
Speaking at the event, titled “Reflections of Diversity on Arab Identity: Toward an Integrated Approach,” Khattabi said the question of identity has evolved beyond a purely cultural issue to become closely linked to human development, stability, and the future of younger generations.
He emphasized that managing diversity requires inclusive cooperation among policymakers, research centers, universities, and civil society institutions, particularly in light of globalization and the growing influence of digital media on youth identity.
Participants are expected to present policy recommendations aimed at strengthening social cohesion and promoting balanced approaches to diversity across Arab societies.
