Fayed Mustafa, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and head of the Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Sector, met Wednesday with Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Qatar’s ambassador to Egypt and permanent representative to the Arab League.
The two officials exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern, focusing on the worsening situation in the Palestinian territories. Discussions addressed the severe humanitarian and living conditions in the Gaza Strip following two years of devastating war, as well as recent Israeli measures in the West Bank aimed at expanding control over land.
Both sides warned that continued Israeli policies would deepen regional and international instability. They also reviewed prospects for enhanced cooperation between the Arab League’s Palestine sector and Qatar’s permanent delegation to the organization.
