Dr. Faed Mustafa, Assistant Secretary-General and head of the Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Sector at the Arab League, met Thursday with Christophe Bigot and a European delegation to discuss recent developments in the Palestinian issue and regional security.
Mustafa welcomed a reported ceasefire agreement between the United States and the Iran, describing it as an important step toward de-escalation and regional stability. He stressed that achieving lasting peace requires ending what he described as the Israeli occupation and ensuring Palestinian rights, including self-determination and the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The meeting also addressed humanitarian conditions in the Palestinian territories and the need for continued international support to relief and development efforts.
