Dr. Faed Mustafa, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League and head of the Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories sector, met Monday with Mauritania’s Ambassador to the Arab League, Al-Hussein Deyeh, to discuss regional developments and their implications for security and peace.
The meeting, held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo, focused on the ongoing war in the region and its dangerous repercussions for regional stability. Both officials exchanged views on how the conflict is affecting the Palestinian issue, warning that Israel is exploiting global attention on the war to escalate attacks against Palestinians, particularly in the occupied West Bank.
The two sides also reviewed a number of political issues of mutual interest aimed at strengthening Arab coordination on key regional challenges.
They stressed the importance of continued cooperation and consultation between Mauritania’s mission to the Arab League and the League’s Palestine sector.
