Faid Mustafa, assistant secretary-general of the Arab League and head of its Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Department, met Thursday with Anne Skov, deputy head of the European Union mission to Egypt, to discuss the latest developments in the Palestinian issue.
The talks focused on efforts to solidify a ceasefire, advance early recovery programs and reconstruction in Gaza, and international initiatives aimed at implementing a two-state solution leading to an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Mustafa welcomed European positions supporting Palestinian rights and opposing settlement activity, annexation measures and forced displacement, urging their translation into concrete action. He also stressed continued support for UNRWA and humanitarian efforts to enable Palestinians to exercise their right to self-determination.
